• In 2003 was awarded the “SA Chef’s Association’s Chairman’s Award from SACA Chairman Billy Gallagher.
• 2001-2003 was a judge for HTA Chef’s Training School’s Chef’s exams.
• 1997 was a judge for the American International Hotel School Chef’s exams.
• 2002-2003 was a judge for SA Army & Airforce Chef of the Year competition.
• 1994-1996 was Founder and Chairman of the Southern Cape Region of the SA Chef’s Association
• 2005-2007 was Vice Chairman of the Gauteng Region of the SA Chef’s Association
• 1995-1996 was on the Executive Committee of the Knysna Publicity Association
• 1992 Founded and started the Knysna Oyster Cooking Competition (still running)
• 1996 was the Coordinator of the Knysna Oyster Festival
• Has appeared on “Radio Good Hope” and “Good Morning South Africa” TV3 as a guest Chef
• In his career has opened 6 new restaurants, 2 new hotels and helped take over 2 bankrupt hotels and renovated 2 hotels.
• Has been a GM of 2 hotels, Ops Manager/F&B Manager/Executive Chef in hotels, lodges, restaurants & golf clubs
• Has owned his own restaurant in Knysna
• Has been a member of the SA Chef’s Association for over 15 years
• Has worked for Sun International, Protea Hotels, Orchid Hotels, Swiss Farm Excelsior, Lanzerac Hotel, Valley Lodge, a variety of other top hotels, golf clubs and private restaurants over 30 years.
